i ordered 2 front wheel hub bering uits from HSA car parts i opene theoxs oday wich bth said timken on them. one unit is a timken and the other says skf on it. both 8 lug patterns and units look roughly same size with minor differences. the timken one rolls nice and feels smooth. the skf one feels a tad sticky/rough...***

 

both are pretty much ALMOST identical but suttle machining differences.Both skf and timken are good names. i guess it will be a real trial of which one lasts longer lol

 

Sounds like somebody did a switch a roo! Personally I would send it back for the correct one.

 

I have used both timmy and SKF. Couldn't really tell any difference except one time I had a SKF fail in just 5k miles. After jumping through the 'fire rings' for them they finally replaced it. As for longevity, they both give about the same service, anywhere from 100k to 125k.
