Opti-Lube Oil Fortifier

I have switched to the Opti-Lube Fuel Improver after seeing how well it did in the comparative tests. I see that the same company also makes a product called "Oil Fortifier" and they make some interesting claims like fuel economy improvement of up to 12%.and reduced wear and operating temperatures. I get tired of reading all the "snake oil" claims made by various companies, but since their fuel additive works so well, I wonder if the oil additive might also. Anyone using this stuff, and how well does it work?

I use their Fuel Improver and have been very satisfied with the product. I had a fuel mileage gain with the fuel improver plus a much more quiet engine. I also have considered using the oil fortifier. I guess we'll both wait to see if anyone here is using it, and if not, maybe it's time to try it anyway and compare notes, eh?

Snake engine oil additives are generally not great. Sometimes they add too much of some chemical additives and can harm the effectivness of oil. BTW Fuel distributors add anti gel additives to Diesel to assure getting it off the truck and out of the ground into your truck. It is seasonally adjusted for anticipitated weather. Bottom line. You may not need to add as much treatment as continer suggest. IMHO

X2. If you are using good oil, you don't need oil additives. Teflon based oil additives have been known to clog oil passages in gas engines.

I agree that many oil additives can cause more harm than good, which is why I'm looking for personal experience on this particular product. I've been around too long to believe all the claims made by people trying to sell me something. However, this company makes a good fuel additive with the performance verified by independent testing, so I think their oil additive is worth a look anyway. I checked out the "Bobs the oil guy" website above, but couldn't find anything on topic. I have joined the site and will ask the question there also, but so much good information comes off this site that I think this is a good source as well. BTW, the summer "Oil Improver," which I use, has no anti-gel in it. It is a lubricant and cleaner only.

I am using the OIL FORTIFIER in my 2002 CtD. Thought I would try it. So far no change in Mileage and engine runs the same as it always has. I also really like the Opti Lube additive for my Fuel system, but my truck seems to be kind of pickey and does not like additives all that well, but yes, I am using the oil fortifier and not seeing any differences in the 02. Have not used it in the 07 0r 96.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like so far the Oil Fortifier is 0 for 1. You know the old saying, "When something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true!"

Wynns Friction Proofing worked really good in the lubes of that period but they went under in the late 60s. I've thought about the oil fortifier but I wouldn't think that todays lubes need anything else. It might help in extended service but I'd rather use UOA and change lubes when it's time and not take chances. Craig
