[QUOTE=Canuckville;2750798]Hey Guys

Installed the one-piece rear drive shaft last night and here are some pics. The shaft I installed is Part # 52123220AB. For you Canadian folk, to let you know I priced out the shaft here from a local dealership and was quoted $850CAD + Tax. I followed Chips advice and phoned Brian at www.dodgetruckparts.net .......$475USD + $80USD for shipping + $35CAD for FedEX when it arrived. Far cry from $850 bucks. Here are some pics!!!

FYI....Installed shaft into my 2005 Quad Cab Long Box Dually 4X4 Automatic.

Thanks for the real nice post on the shaft...

Did this come shipped in a box or just as shown?

It seems to be the way to rid my truck of vibrations etc that no one can fix.

Yes it was shipped in a 7 1/2 ft box. Strapped and packed tight. It arrived within 3 business days. The last time I talked with Brian last week he said they only had 5 more left in stock.

Identical to mine too---I have done this to my 2007 Mega DRW auto-i think this was the first sent to Canukville from Doghouse(shipping/part/exchange came in at 600.00 Canadian but should be better know with the upswing on the dollar)i bought in the first of the new year but did not install until a month ago due to weather. Well had the truck out today........WOW!!
Totally different truck. I can't get over how smooth it is now. I never thought I had any vibration at highway speeds but I realize now I was wrong. Now there are No vibrations.....No shutters on take off and at low speed. All around a smooth running beast now. This was well worth the upgrade.
Very happy with the results and definately recommend this upgrade if you do experiance any kind of vibrations or shutters.

Also a little off topic here........But I could really use some votes for the May TOM. I have my 05 along with my 01.5 runnin for the Two of a King poll. I you want you can vote here https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d-t268167.html

Thanks

So I went to doghouse to order and read that it will not work with the 5600 6 speed.

For manual transmissions, this will only fit trucks with the G56 transmission. Trucks with the NV5600 have reported that the driveshaft is approx 2" too long and bottoms out on the slip yoke.

Anyone know if there is a different one out there that will work for my truck.

After 400,000 miles, I NOW find out about this?

...JUST ORDERED!!!

Now if someone can recommend a replacement Drivers Seat, I might actually appreciate my $Truck$ a little more.

I believe you need to order the one that is 2 inches too long and have a driveline service shorten it. Thats what I plan on doing.

Call Rich at "Doghouse Diesel Performance". I think you will find that there are 3 part# one Auto and two manual one for G56 and one for NV.. This is a great upgrade..

Do you think this will help with the Short Bed Dodge vibration problems??

Has anybody tried one of these or do they not make them for the shortbeds?

Does anybody know what is different on the '09 SB as far as driveline? Is it aluminum or the regular steel one with the huge dampner on it?

Thanks!

Question aluminum one piecer

Just got my, and put it in last nite. Got it from Dog House diesel. Had it next dayed to me, which was only $20 more. Pretty nice unit. Much nicer than the junker that was in the truck. My one concern is that there is no Cir Clips in the universal joint at the rear end. Where the drive shaft meets the rear end. I noticed the OEM steel one didn't have them in the front on that one either. I have only changed a few u-joints in my life, and it always seems there is always a clip either on the inside or the outside. I don't see any in this location. Is this normal?

Seems like the truck is much smoother, I will say that. Even the girl friend could notice the difference. However, the one issue I have not been able to get rid of, is that dreaded racket I get at about 1500 RPMS in fifth gear. Seems like the drive shaft made it come in at a little lower RPM now, but its still there. All that's left to change is Junker Valair Clutch, and/or try a fluid damper. Totally puzzeled on that one. I guess maybe it could be the rear end? I put a good quality AMS oil in the G56, and that made no difference either. Love that truck, but that one hick-up is a major drag...
