Stopped by the dealer today right away they started sweating. I just wanted to ask them what and how they tested my truck. Here is the answers i got on injectors they did a flow test ???? I asked about the DBR tool service manager said yes tech said no. Tech said he did flow tests on injectors, fuel rail return, LP flow test and return test. They said that they dont do pressure tests on the LP only CP3 do they do that. They know that the LP are junk on the 03's but unless it comes under on the flow test they cant get the insurance to pay for it. Yes this is a insurance deal. Can someone chime in on What really leaks on the injectors the nozzles, body, tip????? Do i change nozzles or get whole new ones????? NO smoke or rise in oil just getting close to 100000 so starting to think about replacing.

Good on ya mopig. I'd like to know if injectors can be faulty by leaking by to the return ports, and thus the fuel tank. If this is possible, then injectors can be faulty without contaminating the oil system (high oil level, diesel in crankcase) and not smoke at start-up issues..................inquiring minds want to know.

i second that question. i talked to a guy at diesel injection services in Grand rapids and he said if i brought my injectors to him he would test each one for $25 and rebuild the bad ones. He is going to call me back with a quote for the rebuild price he said it would be about a 2 day turn around. He also said i could buy rebuilt injectors for 349 from him he would get them direct from bosch.

Do you purchase from F-1 or through a distributor.

You have to go through a distributor. Don is a busy man.

Well it has come to it. Im making oil now. 2 days and 1qt high on the dipstick. I called a diesel service in the next town. The dodge dealer that is in town wont touch the truck anymore. This guy told me to call another dealer and see if they put a block on my warrenty yet. I have 94500 miles on my truck and injectors leaking. They just checked them and charged me for it but now 7 days later im making oil they say flow test was fine. I had a edge w/att on it but for only 8000 miles and we dont know if when i took it in they blocked it or not. Find out tomorrow. So now New injectors, I know about F1's But I think i need full injectors not just Nozzles. If i send them in how long is the turn around??? Not making smoke on start up and no loss of power but oil level rising. They might be able to fix them who knows. This is my only vehicle besides my 1964 D100 Thats not good it has a 496 big block in it can u say ooch 6 miles a gal. Need fast turn around to save the back pocket.

I think black cloud diesel sells full injectors for about 1125 and I think F-1's are the whole injector. The injector service by my told me a three day turn arounf but has not quoted me a price for rebuilding yet.

On the later years the lift pump was moved from the filter canister to in the tank style. The lift pump is a small electric pump that supplies low pressure fuel to the CP3. The CP3 supplies very high pressure fuel to the injectors.
