Hey guys,
Im at 97k miles and about to give up the 100k warranty on my 07 5.9.

I have leaks at both pinion seals, and at what appears to be the rear main seal, (because oil is coming out of the bottom of the bell housing. (manual))

My power steering gear box also weeps, but does not drip like the other 3.

Are these kind of leaks covered under warranty?

My engine also has a terribly loud knock that I hear at idle when I am outside the truck. kind of sporatic, it will knock 3 times in a row, then go quiet for a few seconds, then knock some more. Only when its hot. The truck has done this since it was new though. Not sure if this is normal. My 92 has never made this kind of noise.
Is this normal?

Anything else I should check before my warranty is lost forever?

I have the extended from Chrysler and it covered both front and rear pinion seal leaks, also replaced steering gear box and all linkage with updated much heaver duty parts than original. ("Steering gear box was leaking"). Also replaced drivers seat heater pads, Diagnosed and Cleared CEL. All this was on three different times at the dealer. $100.00 deductible each time,I can live with that. I am approaching the end of my 100k/7yr warranty and will be having the truck checked over real good before that happens. Hope this helps. Current Mileage 87,656

 

I had a front timing cover gasket let go at 68K and the dealership covered it under my 70K warranty without a problem. I would think you would be covered as well.
