Re:oil filter part number

Don't have it right now but this was covered in a previous thread. Do a search and it may pop up. Will have a look later today and see if I can find that number for you.

Mopar Oil Filter: 5083285AA
For upgrade, use a Fleetguard Stratapore Oil Filter: LF16035

Use the Fleetguard. Its the same filter as the Mopar. The Stratapore filter is the best and will still cost less than the Mopar OEM you will get from a dealer.

Re:oil filter part number

Just bought a case of 12 Mopar #5083285AA from E-bay for $81.00....would have rather had Stratapore, but couldn't beat the price.

I would by them for that price to. I don't think the Mopar's use the stratapore media but I do think they are made by fleetguard. You can't go wrong warranty wise with the mopars.

Are the '04 oil and fuel filters the same? I know they should be but I'd rather be sure then sorry as I need to order some.

Yes, they are the same as 03. I had ask this question a couiple weeks ago and was unable to get a response. Called "Geno's" and they said 04 owners had bought the 03 4/2/1 kit and they had not had any returns. I ordered and changed the oil filter at 1500mi. Have not messed with fuel filter but air filter will fit also.

Re:oil filter part number

I found out that the filters from the old engines are compatible with the only difference being the new one has a grip for a filter ''wrench'' on the bottom..I used up all my old filters each time i have changed trucks and even used one from my old 96 12 valve on my new 03.. when i ran this by the dealer he smiled and told me to keep this secret since the new filters have gone up in price...so guys..if you but them by the case like i do..don't hesitate to use them
