oil consumption, lower fuel mileage, awful smell while idle???

ok, here's the deal- my truck was 2 quarts low today, my fuel mileage has been getting worse for the past month or so- not the usual winter fuel problem, and when I sit at idle in neutral for a few minutes I have an awful odor inside the cab. I can smell it in the front of the truck as well. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Possible bad injector(s)? Any help will be great. I will be going to the dealer in a few days, and want some ammunition for when I get there. By the way the truck is a 2003 Quad 4x4 S.O. auto with 80000 miles.

When you checked the oil, was it sitting for quite a while. It takes a long time for all the oil to make its way to the pan. Have you checked your tire pressures when cold lately? What kind of stink, a diesel or dead one?

the best way to describe the smell is like stale cooling water from a factory coolong tank. I forgot to add, in the mornings the truck won't fire on the first try, turns over but won't start until the second try. I did check the oil after 3 hours of sitting still. Tire pressure, new tires only 3 weeks old. Any other thoughts?

Is the cooling system ok and have you been checking the oil regularly? Checked your filters etc? You really aren't describing anything the sounds that odd except the oil. Fuel mileage seems to have gone down since the new tires?

Are you losing coolent? Oil in water or water in oil? Plugged air filter may cause starting and blow by issues.
