All I can figure is that the dipstick is wrong... The pans are the same the Filters are the same... Next time I service one I am going to go pull my stick and check their oil or compare the dipstick lengths... .........

That just sounded kinda dirty I hope I don't get dipstick envy!

I hope my truck has one of the longer dipsticks.

WOW! I did not realize that the truck was that sensitive to being level when the oil level is checked. Next time I check mine I'm going to call a surveyor . Long term I'll invest in a laser level .

Serouisly though, mine has taken 3 gallons (a.k.a. 12 quarts). I pour approx. 1 quart in the filter & the otehr 11 in teh crankcase.

I doubt their is anything to it also but the engine cants down in the rear on these trucks and I havn't ever looked to see if the dipstick is in the front or rear of the truck. it may just be a slight variation between cpl's

I dont have my leveling kit intalled yet. It sits on larger tires, but the suspension is stock.

I ALWAYS put 3 gallons in the engine and a one qt mix of SLICK 50/MMO/2 cylce engine oil in the filter. This combo gives me about 50 extra horses every time!

haha, i would have if i could find rottella by the qt.

this was before i installed ny leveling kit also. seems like after installing the kit it reads slightly lower on the dipstick.

im not to worried about it, i was just curios if anyone else had this happen because i saw another thread where everyone said that 12 qts. ALWAYS puts it at the full line. didnt know if something was fishy w/ my truck.

now i know its normal, thanks for the help.
