jwash said it exacty. when I had my '99, I watched the DOT man dip my tank when I was in a restaurant one day for lunch. another thing they can do if the tank is inaccessible is pull a fuel filter. They seem more interested when you have an auxillary tank in the back.

So you were in a restaurant and a DOT guy walked up to your truck and dipped it without even talking to you, pulling you over?? I would have went out and dipped him upside the head...
