NV5600 Input Leak

Last time I changed my motor oil I noticed a leak comming from the bell housing. Gear oil. Truck has 22,000 miles of light duty. Anybody have any leaks or seepage? Truck leaves a puddle about the size of a silver dollar per night. I'm not looking forward to the dealer getting his hands on my trany.

Thanks

I had the same thing happen with about 20,000 my on my truck. Turned out to be the seal on the input shaft was bad. I only found out because I replaced my stock clutch (due to slipping) with a south bend and the mechanic ( not dealer) called me to take a look at it. $15.00 from napa fixed it right up. Only problem is dropping the trany. Before this, I took it to the dealer because of the leak and they said it was normal. Go figure.... I would have the dealer look at it and see what they say? Also, when I backed up a slight hill, more oil would pour out where the tranny and bell housing come together. Good luck, I hope you can find a fix...

Ya thats what I'm worried about...Dropping the cast iron trany. It does not appear to be light at all. Drop it, sure. Lining it back up is the problem. I just hate having the dealer getting involved. They always screw something up. My trany also leaks more on a incline. Stands the reason though. In your instance was the seal just not installed properly or was it a bad seal? Normally the cause with so few miles would be ...seal installed incorrectly or defective bearing.

I guess I'll be crossing my fingers on the dealers work.

I think it was not intalled properly. I had a guy drop my tranny install the new clutch and fix the seal for about $400.00 out the door. I thought it was worth it to not have to do it myself.. Good luck..
