I went to the dodge dealer because I needed a little top up in my nv5600. They gave me 1 quart of nv3500 fluid. Nowhere on the bottle does it say anything about nv5600. The price of it seemed about right. $33.70 for 1 quart! Dodge part number right off of bottle is 04874464...... Just looking at the bottle and doing some quick math this fluid costs over a dollar per ounce. Must be good stuff. Top shelf!

 

I think I found the answer for myself. Amsoil website says their mtf fluid is for the nv3500 and nv5600... I already have the amsoil in there, just need a top up before I do a change.

 

Penzoil syncromesh, which is OEM approved and basicaly the same stuff, is less $7.00 a quart...

 

One of the joys of living in the middle of nowhere! You get ripped off. To source out the penzoil you speak of would mean shipping and handling. Greyhound from just about anywhere for any size package is a minimum of 20 bucks. Because of being a small town there are limited amounts of selection.

 

How small can your town be, with a Dealer.

I understand small Town, Mine is about 2300 people, about 6000 for the whole county... We have 1 Dodge Dealer for the whole Southern part of the State, about 65 mi. away, any other is over 200 mi away. I don't buy Dealer unless thats the only supplier...


I got mine in the next town, 54 miles away, While doing the shopping trip...
I could have got it at the Napa @ home...

even if shipping where $20.00, still be cheaper to get something online...
