Nov. issue D world mag. breathing treatment

The november issue of diesel world magazine had a breathing treatment artical. They replaced stock with a banks ram air and DELETED the grid heater. At what outside air temp can you delete the grid heater. My heater comes on almost everytime i start the truck. Great pics in the mag. of the grid heater. Of course they got more air. Any thoughts, just enjoying a beer.

If I lived in a place where the temp didnt go below 40 to 45 I would consider it, but not up North here,

Not real schooled on the 3rd gens, but from what I understand, the grids were added to the 12v's only for the dodge application. I've seen little if no difference in cold weather starting in my grid deleted 12v's down to zeroF. In fact, I find that I'd rather have the reserve battery capacity that the grids draw in the even that I need to crank a second or third time.
