Not holding OD as well
Just back from a long trip and noticed something odd. I don't think my 48RE is holding OD as well as it did when it was new. I'm just under 40,000 miles now and I tow a 10,000# fifth wheel.
New I rarely kicked out of OD towing mountains, into wind, whatever. Now I had it downshift on the grade approaching a high bridge! I was wondering if the FW has put on any weight, so I weighed it again. I've put on about 400# of "stuff" in the last year, bringing me up to almost exactly 10,000# - I wouldn't think that would make the difference? Any ideas? The fluid is proper level and relatively new, the trans is running nice a cool...
