Is this normal? Tranny question

When I just throw my truck into gear and hit it it takes right off. If I just ease on the fuel to go slow over somthing, like if my tire is dropped into a pothole, the engine will rev clear to 2200 rpm or so before anything starts happening. I have tried to ease over curbes and had the throttle pinned to the floor and the truck just sits there with nothing happening. The same thing happens in sand or loose gravel, lotsa throttle it digs to china. Ease into it and engine revs and nothing happens. If I give the throttle a quick tap it will lurch at whatever the obstruction is but it is a little rough on the occupants. There is no problem in 4 low it will crawl at whatever I aim at. Does this sound like I have a bad torque converter or somthing? Or is it just a lame trans from the get go? I would think that this is'nt good for the clutches in the tranny. I am uber parinoied about trans problems as I know little about them and have spent mucho $$ on them in the past. Will an aftermarket torque convertor and valve body fix this? the truck only has 24,000 miles on it. Thanks for the help

Take it in for warranty work. That sound like something that can only get worse.

You definitely have a tranny problem. It may be as simple as the tranny fluid being low, but what you have described is not normal and needs to be fixed. Your tranny should still be under warrantee.

It sounds like a torque converter problem. Get it checked out.
