no wate to start light when pluged in
im up here in ohio and its starting to get cool at nights now. iv been pluging my truck in at nights, all night, but, even this morning when it was a shade over +15 deg. F , i got no wate to start light. i still let it set for a couple seconds while the grid heaters cycled, and it fired right up. no prob really, but all i was wondering is why? and does yours do that if you plug it in? its goin got get cold here tonight, +10 deg. F in the morning, ill see if i get the wate to start light then.

If you look in your manual it states that the "wait to start" light won't come on if the ambient intake temperature is above 66 degrees. When you plug it in all night it's usually above that. Mine does the same thing.

These things start great in the cold compared to most diesels. I just keep mine plugged in to keep warm up time down and wear on the engine. It may start when it's really cold but it's pretty hard on it.

I alway plug in the diesel trucks I have driven once it gets below 40 degrees. I watch the weather and if it is supposed to drop down in the 30's or lower I plug it in when I get home. It can't hurt a thing so might as well.

I plug mine in below 40 degrees too......Mine is on a timer so it comes on 4 hours before I leave for work. I know these trucks start just fine when it is cold, I just don't like waiting for heat to come out of the vents!

I plug mine in when it gets below 20...but lately the grid heater comes on every morning even when its plugged but i spose being -18 below at night and -30 below windchills have something to do with that

yes same here if its plugged in I dont have to wait. Sure beats standing there at -10 for 30 seconds staring at the dash at 5am I actually plug mine in when it gets 20 above degrees or colder. It helps it warm up quicker also

actually wind chill has nothign to do with it. wind chill is what it "feels" like, just cus its -30 wind chill, it dosent mean its really any colder out.

Block heaters suck alot of electricity dont they? Seems like a waste to plug the truck in when it's 40 outside just so warm air blows out of the vents. I only plug mine in when it gets below 10*(right now it is -4*). Can't wait for summer!!
