hey my son inlaws truck has lost power all of a sudden. he said it takes almost 2 miles to get to 70mph. he did the key trick but no codes, he changed the fuel filter but that didnt help. he said the engine light is on. its 06 5.9 6spd. any ideas he is in snyder and needs to get back to lubbock.

 

Have him pull the air filter and look at it. Pull it out and check it even if it was new a few days ago.

Does he have any gauges? If so, what is boost?

Any new noises such as a whistle?

He could also check all the turbo hoses and clamps.

 

no gauges, completely stock. he has put it on a trailer and taking it home. it has 60k miles on it i wonder if it would be under warranty. but i will have him check all that out when he gets home, any other ideas like TPS or something
