Been tracking for 40K miles 90% of the tanks I have hand calculated.

IN town 16-17MPG
Highway @ 65 MPH 18-19MPG
65-75MPH 17-18MPG

All fact, no BS. I hit 19 once or twice, but that was driving like a little old lady, and just can not do that

6 Speed, 3.73, 2WD, CC, LB, DRW.

I think it depends more on where you live than what what equipment is on your truck. The mountains where I live kill fuel mileage. Also the quality of fuel varies from state to stae & station to station also. 40 cetane vrs 42 ect. My truck gets around 20 all the time. But highway speeds of over 70mph kill it. I try to keep the tach just shy of 2k.

Last year when my dad was ill and I was making a regular commute from southeast GA to north central GA, my truck (below) got 21 mpg several times for several months. Now that I've moved here, I'm getting 16 mpg going to the store, and town, and the post office, and Blockbuster. I seldom even get it out on the interstate anymore.

4.10's + 6 spd. + EZ Edge + TST + Heavy Right Foot = 14 to 15 unloaded and I can't drive under 70, like it has been said before... boring!!
Loaded with the 5ver at a constant 68 to 70 I get 10 to 11, up hills, down hills, with wind or without wind and just about never having to come out of 6th gear, life is good.
For what it's worth, I gave up along time ago trying to get outstanding mileage with a "Built for towing" truck.
Wife's 2002 Beetle TDI, she can get 49 MPG out of it, I can only muster 44 MPG with it, but I get there faster .

Most of my driving is at an average of 50 mph, 30 miles to work one way with 8 traffic lights. Average mpg hand calculated is between 19.5 and 20.5. Just took a trip to Virginia for Christmas, 850 miles one way, cruise set on 75, was averaging 22.5. I do run a mix of Diesel Power, "gray bottle" and Marvels at every fill-up. Farthest my overhead has ever been off of my hand calculations has been 1.2 mpg.
