Newbie questions

Seriously considering an 05 or 06 3500 Dually QCLB Auto/Cummins SLT with almost all the comfort options in the next 6-9 months.

Use: Mostly dragging the boat to the lake (3500lb), and occasionally dragging the 18' flatbed trailer to transport a car or picking up material for the new house (2500-8000).

Future use (~3yr): 8' or 9' Truck camper and dragging the boat.

I'd like to hear from those running an auto with an Exhaust brake, in particular one installed on an '05. Has DC approved it?

What about mileage? Is 14-16 around town the norm, after break-in? Is 18-22 highway the norm as well?

Just to head off the question, a manual trans is out of the questions, bad knees.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks, all!

Tony

bigblock,
Where'd you hear that? Is there anyway we can confirm it? Like a press release?

Thanks!

yes if you go to the mopar accessories page you can look up the exhaust brake as a dealer installed part but in the explination of it they specifically state that it is not approved to be used on an auto. I know because I tow about 98% of the time and wanted it for my 05 but no such luck!!

underwoodtransp,
Been there, saw the same thing.

Also found this on Jake's website. This seems to collaborate, albeit without being too specific on dates, what bigblock2stroke said.

Looks like we'll be buying late in Q1 or early Q2 2006. So, I've got time to wait & see. In the meantime, I get to learn a lot!

Thanks all!
