Talking newbie, fuel inj leaking?

new to the board, got 03 quad 4x4 6sp with 147k on it. the last (#6?) inj next to the firewall is dripping fuel. was wondering if this could just be tightened up or is this an O-ring issue. look forward to any and all info, and what a great board. TIA more

Is it leaking from the metal line going into the injector?
if it's leaking at the fitting try snugging it up with a wrench.

not quite sure as it is hard to see that far back under the cowl, but it doesn`t really look like it is at the line, but thanx for the reply

we need a better explanation of where it's leaking from.
it could be anything the whole fuel system is on that side of the engine.

so it could be...

fuel filter
lift pump
return lines
supply lines
hard injector lines

you need to climb under the hood with a flash light and take a good look.

good luck

The 03 - 04 sixth injector line has been documented to leak. That is a member,
had the problem of a cracked injector feed line. From 2004.5 and up mother mopar mounted a clamp on that line that attaches to the block lifting lug. It has been one of the nagging issues I should deal with. Go to a Cummins outlet and buy a new injector line and holdown clamp assembly. Or you could waste your time and patience and try the dealer

Fuel leak

Just saw the thread and figured i'd give my two cents since i turned wrenches on Diesels for awhile. If i was you, i'd go get a cheap telescoping mechanics mirror from any auto parts store and with a flashlight you should be able to see exactly where it's leaking from. Eliminates all guesswork. Good Luck!
