New Turbo on and still problems ?
Ok I just finished putting the new turbo on and I was hoping for a cure all. No so much . lol The engine runs great and don't miss but it has a lot of blowby when I take the oil fill cap off. It is puffing like a smoke stack. What amount if any blowby is acceptable ? The engine has 222000 miles on it so it is not a new one by any means.
I am a newby at this diesel stuff. Thanks. Joe

Time to pull the head and see just how bad things are.
OP, you need to fill out your signature and tell us specifics on the truck for a better result.

Ok new update, The blowby is not as bad as it was yesterday. I don't seen any blowby comming out of the vent tube. The filter don't seem to be stopped up. Everyone I have talked to says drive it instead of tearing it down. Everyone except my son who swears there is something wrong. Will blowby damage the new turbo ?

Blowby won't hurt the turbo.
There is a tool called a manometer that can measure the crankcase pressure at the vent tube. It may not hurt to find someone that has one.
If it's not bad and it runs good then I would ensure the fluids/filters are all good/new and drive it. Keep an eye on things and see what happens.
