new injectors

i have an 03 cummins 5.9 liter. i added an edge ez box. but i still need more power to pull. im on a tight budget and would like to install new injectors.

i would like to do it myself. is this possible doing it in my own garage. from i see on the 12 valves you just pull the valve cover off. is the 24 valve the same procedure.

also what brand and what size off injectors would you reccommend. im new to the deisel world so any info would be great.

it is totally possible to do it yourself, I did it a few years ago. takes a bit of time, you just have to take it slow.

I always suggest F1 diesel. they take your old injectors and rebuild them for you.

I can't remember the link, but someone else can probably find it, there is a 12 page write up, with pictures about how to to remove and install the injectors. awesome write up.

the common rail trucks use the same injectors and the upgrade is in the nozzles themselves. it is very easy to do. for a set of 60 hp nozzles is going to run you about $700. there is some cheaper places out there. look up extrude honing.
