new here few questions on this 05 i bought

i been a member for a bit now finally bought a ctd 2 days ago.
05 6 speed 4wd single cab long bed 80k miles drove it over 800 miles back from new york to Illinois averaged about 23 mpg the whole way

the questions i have are after the drive i parked it in my driveway and in the morning came out to a few decent sized oil puddles on the ground from the driver side.
i took it to work put it on a lift and there was oil every where. all around the oil pan and a little up higher around the pcm. when doing a blowby test blocking off the crankcase tube another guy watched the oil cap for me and said it was very slightly bouncing maybe a 1/4 of an inch

the reason i started out doing a blowby test was due to the oil residue above the pcm at that one tube coming from the valve cover that goes into the block.
what are your guys opinions or further diagnostics i can run on here. truck runs great no smoke nothing also it was stone cold when i did that blowby test. i figured at the least it probably needs an oil pan gasket.

1st up is to keep a close eye on the oil level.

Next up is a compression test. It's not easy to perform a compression test on these engines as the injectors have to come out which is a job in itself, not hard but time consuming and precise work.
Then you need a specialized diesel compression gauge and adapter.

The compression test will tell you your next step. To determine and fix the oil leaks or to pull the engine for a rebuild.

Yet to leak any more could have been a mess left under or burnt down from the long trip? If this motor was junk think it would have been capable of getting the fuel mileage I got on the way home
