new engine

Re:new engine
In my eyes there is no reason for bad valves on an engine with less than 2000 miles. These things are built to exact specs. arent they ? ??? The cummins engine is almost one third of the trucks total cost.Once upon a time engines were actually test run when they were built. Its my contention that they ship off the trucks knowing that something is wrong .This pos had a major oil leak day one that would have been there from the factory seeing how an oring was left out.Where is the quality control .Were not talking about problems that showed up a couple of hundred or thousand miles down the road ive had nothing but trouble from day one

Re:new engine
In their defense, there are tens of thousands of individual components that make up a single vehicle. Each one can fail. And if each part has one in 10 *million* that are bad, and 10,000 parts in a truck. One in every thousand trucks will have an issue.

Re:new engine
Unfortunately nothing in life is perfect. Has anyone ever seen a perfect production car or truck? I sure have never owned one. I hate to use as a comparison but we have had two shuttle disasters. You would think the system of checks and balances would be better than what the CTD goes through but stuff happens. Give it a chance and they will get it fixed. In time you will again come to love your CTD.

Re:new engine
I do not intend to own this truck any longer than i have to.I completely understand that lots can go wrong when building a vehicle. What im the really angry about is how the situation has been handled.Car makers are allowed to get away with way to much, can you imagine spending 2500 on a T.V. getting it home, plugging it in and having it not work and then having the maker of the tv telling you it will be over a month before they get back to you? It wouldnt happen .So why is it that way with new cars? The current laws are heavily in favor of the manufactor. I really believe that in making me wait as long as possible they hope a will get frustrated and just trade the thing in, taking a 10k hit .And no i dont really want a chevy im just so #^&**6 ! off at dodge right now

How do you figure?? ??? ???
If the truck has 2000k the motor will have that much less. How can you say it would be worth less??

Re:new engine
Good luck if you should decide to go the Lemon Law route. To make a long story short, I have been there done that. Ain't no fun and takes alot of time and effort. It is not as easy to do as some are inclined to believe. My case settled just before going to arbitration.
