Yes there is only 1 cam bearing the rest are bare block. You can have them installed aftermarket or go all the way and go with full bearings and roller lifters.

I don't understand the "thank god" comment on the cast head. The aluminum heads work GREAT on the duramax's, they have "0" head gasket issues and 1 duramax head (4 cyl) flows more than the entire 6 cyl Cummins head. To each their own but I don't care if they're made out of wood as long as they work.

With all these 5.9 cummins motors and lots of them with over a million miles it doesn't seem likely that it's a problem not haveing a bushing/bearing.
Talked to a guy this week that just sold his 89 with 2,500,000 no internal engin work doesn't use oil.

Sure it didn't. Wanna buy some ocean front property in Nebraska? Not gonna happen, maybe 250k but not 2 million 500 thousand. Your pushing your luck to get 1 million out of a heavy duty engine that runs 1/2 the rpm and maintains a more consistent work load, someone is dreaming. Not to mention the fact that the truck isn't going to last NEARLY that long.
