New 2006 has arrived...loose TC

Signature truck arrived yesterday and is in the driveway. I love everything except the torque converter...doesn't really grab until 2000 or 2100 rpm. I know this is how they're designed to work. Anyone else experience this disappointment and what have you done to remedy the situation? I don't want to void the warranty but want to feel ALL THAT POWER going to the rear wheels instead of slipping away. I will be adding Line-X, step bars and gauges in the mean time while I try to decide on the converter. All advice welcome, thanks.

Tc

I replaced mine with the TCI triple. Had mine in for work only way they would know is if you tell them otherwise they would have to pull the cover to look. it is better for the trans less heat, and you will love it you can feel the power and tows great. EGTs go up some because you are loading the eng. but I did waite till I had 15K make sure the trans was good no problems with the eng. now if you go on a trip and the trans breaks you might have a problem with the dealer your dealing with. but at that time is best to upgrade the trans anyway VB and pan. If you plan on putting a box on the truck you will be glad you did it

How can you tell when the TC kicks in?

IWeb, you hit the gas from a stop and you're turning 1600 to 1800 rpm...the engine is making noise and doing it's thing, yet you're not really moving the way you should. So you gas it a little more and you hit 2000 rpm. The truck begins to lurch forward, yet something is still missing. Just past 2100 rpm the torque actually hits the rears wheels and you really start to accelerate, which is cool, but...what I'm saying and I think others will agree is that you shouldn't have to wait until 2100+rpm for the torque to hit the rear wheels and the seat of your pants!

I do plan on installing a box some day like a Quadzilla 0-30-60-100 and want the tranny to survive and perform. I will also be doing some 5er towing...something around 10,000 lbs. So I want something that I can turn down or off when I'm pulling a big load. Do any of these programmers also control transmissions parameters as well?

Torque management. Power is managed to save your trans and driveline. What he talking about "kicking in" is when the lock up clutch engages.
