Need oppinions on my 06 2500

I just bought a 2006 2500 with 95k miles on it. The only thing that I dont like is the start up every now and then. It drives me nutts and I can't figure out what to do about it. Any help on that would be appreciated and also I am thinking of taking the cat and muffler and just putting straight pipes in place. Are there any cons to that and suggestions on cold air intake that are in the affordable range? I would like to stay below $300 on that.

Not sure what you mean by not liking the start up now and then. I don't have a cat or muffler on mine and I love it. It is louder but doesn't bother me. It had stacks when i bought it and they were really noisy especially when loaded. As far as cold air intakes everyone is steering away of the oil type filters and going to dry synthetic filters. Apparently the oil type filters decrease mileage I think. That's my $0.02.
P.S. Congratulations on the new purchase!

Any codes? Turn the key on and off 3 times, and on the 3rd "on", it'll either show ------ (no codes) or a code, ie.. p0343.

If no codes, you probably got an injector or two with excessive fuel return.
