Need to get rid of my K&N

Just bought the truck and it has K&N. I need to switch to big & dry from what I understand. What all do I need and where is best place to get it? Parts numbers etc.

Check the DTR store. Lary can probably get you what you need. I think the AFE Super Stock Dry Filter is the one to get if you plan on keeping your stock airbox in place....

So you have a drop in K&N filter in the stock air box? And you are wanting to get a cold air intake (the big open air filter). I dont know what is best, i have a K&N cold air intake, my mom has a Kennedy cold air intake on hers. There are a bunch of different brands, you just have to find one that you like that matches your price range and go with it.

Here is a link, look through some of these, the K&N cold air intake that i mentioned is on page 2. These are only a few different brands and models, there are many more.

Hope this helps.

My truck has over 200,000 miles with a K&N drop in filter.
The air tubes are spotless...........not a spec of dust.

So, are you looking for a new filter only or a whole new intake? I have a BHAF on mine. That's about as Big,Open, and Dry as it gets. I also have an Outerwears water repellant cover on it. This is the same big round filter they use on big trucks........

Thats what I have on my 97 F-350 but with no cover. Where did you get your's for your 04 Dodge? I guess I should open my filter box and take a pic or two and let y'all look at what I actually got.

tndiesel you are correct to get that junk off of there, i guess the oem air box is not there. i would get a cool hose, tag, and a oem air box to put on it. cummins will confirm that the oiled filters cause tens of millions of dollars in damage to them and we have personal experience with it. the reason for the box is to keep any under hood hot air from entering the turbo this reduces compressor efficiency, the tag is is needed to replace the straightening vanes that was removed with the k&n change

The big round air filters on big truck(like stated in earlier post) still are encased in a housing. There is a reason why know truck manufacturer from Kenworth to Dodge has ever put an open air filter on a truck, to big a risk. Just read the owners manuel under maintanance.
