Nasty vibration in 4WD

So like the title says, as of late my 04' has developed a really bad vibration in 4WD. Kind of like when you drive on the shoulder of the highway and hit that rumble strip. I just replaced all of my ball joints and axle joints in the front end and both driveshaft u-joints are tight so I'm thinking something in my t-case or front diff is failing on me. Also my left front tire makes this strange ticking noise and I can feel it through the floor of the truck...

Has anyone had their t-case crater on them? Or have similar symptoms to mine? The truck has 239,000kms on it or 148,000 miles. I'm changed the fluid last fall but I'm gonna change it again and see if theres any metal particles in the oil, I hope not.

Thoughts?

I'd look for the balance weights on the driveshaft to ensure they have not come off.

Another thing to look at is the ring and pinion. A freind has a newer Toyota and had the same problem you described. The dealer changed out the ring and pinion, problem solved.

There's 3 ujoints in the front shaft, sure sounds like the cardan is shot. Its easy to pull out to look closely. You should be the same as mine so you can't grease it without taking it apart anyway so a good time to do it.

What happens in two wheel dr? DO the vibes go away? These are full time systems minus the engagement when the 4x is selected. You should have any drive line related vide no mater what the transfer case says based on the face that everything is turning anyway.

I ask because I am fighting this right now. I pull shift on the fly 4hi and everything is great. Shift back to 2wd and I get a nasty vibe like you describe. I have to stop, shift the case to neutral, then back to two high and were good. Makes little to zero sense to me.

I am an avid off roader and currently own a Jeep set up for rock crawling. The vibe to me is in the flippin case.

The vibration is only in 4WD but like I mentioned earlier I can hear this ticking noise coming from my front end. I do notice how ever that the vibration is noticeably worse when I let off the throttle in 4WD.
