Napa U-joints

Will the Napa #351 work on both ends of my drive shaft? Note that it is a regular cab 3500 DRW 4x4 with a one-piece shaft.

I don't think so, Napa's website shows either the 295 or the 330's for the single piece driveshaft. The 351's are for 2 piece driveshafts with a 6 speed gearbox.

I had a u-joint from my '01 3/4 ton that I compared to the 351's I just installed today, and man the 351's are so much bigger! I remember back in the day I thought the 3/4 ton u-joints were big till I seen these.

Thanks for mentioning the Napa website. I didn't realize they had a vehicle search feature. I noticed they listed the 330 and 295 for both the two-joint and three-joint shafts.

Yeah, they had differnt numbers for auto's/manual's and 2/3 piece shafts for some reason. The "super strong" joints are only available the auto's, I have no idea what the actual difference is...

But for the 1 ton two piece driveshaft guys, the Napa 351's work on all three joints.

n50xp,

What joints did you get and where. I lost one on my rear driveshaft and can't find one anywhere. Dodge dosen't even have any in their 3 parts depots. I believe Neapco is the only aftermarket company that makes them but I can't get one from them till next Thursday because they are out of stock

Thanks for any help. And why does standard cab with long bed and 6- speed have to be so different?

I think the NAPA parts numbers might be incorrect. I just replaced mine with #351's. I have a 1 piece shaft and a 6 spd. The bearing cups on the 351's are 1 3/8" the 330's are smaller 1 1/16.

With the 351's remember you still have to grind off about 1/16 of each end on the cap so they fit perfectly.
Takes about 5 minutes of work with a bench grinder.

I think I put the 330 joint in mine . The only difference between the 295 and
330 is the location of the zerk fittting. I didn't think there was a difference
between the joints for manual or auto on the 3g trucks, but I learn something new everyday.

Why on earth would you grind them?

Because they are dimensionally bigger than the stock dodge u joint.
This has been discussed before. Do a search.
