My truck is a big pile of crap

Take your truck back to the tire store and tell them how your truck is driving with the new tires. This happened to me once but I was back to the tire store after 10-15 miles. The rear of my truck was all over the place. I was surprised when the manager said I wasn't the first guy this has happened to. I picked out a different tire, they put them on and all was well.
I have no Idea why the other tires acted the way they did.

I can't see how you can complain about your truck that much... I mean to call it a pile of crap? My 05' has been great. No problems, knocking on wood. Course I added an external fuel pump asap. I make great power even with my larger tires. That could be where some of your power has gone. Taller tires that weigh more eat up horsepower. Don't blame the truck for your decisions.

Did you look at the build date ? Could be you got a slacker hour truck. No two trucks are going to be exactly the same. I have been very lucky with just about every vehicle I have owned. I did buy an '82 Dodge Ram-50, and was replacing something on it almost every month. My 2005 has been great since the day I drove it off the lot. My only suggestion is to keep after the dealer until they fix the problem. For your steering problems, it could be a bad tire - out of round or not balanced properly. Don't forget that these trucks come with really crappy shocks, and if you did not change them that is not going to help.

I happened to see a diesel service that had a sign about a Dyno. Do a lot of service centers have a dynomometer to service the big rigs? If so what about taking the truck there to see if there is a lack of horsepower. Just a thought.

thanks for all the help guys. I am glad i could serve my country and if i can get my weight back down i am going to go back in to the army.I think i am just going to save my money up and buy a airdog for my truck. I am pretty sure the lift pump is bad again. I can get another one warrented. but i do not want to have to go back to the dealer every other month to have the lift pump replaced.thanks guys Bobby

Hey i am not saying you are wrong or any thing. But i am sure 99.9 percent that the lift pump is bad again on my truck. That will make it the 3 pump on my truck in less than 30,000 miles. I sold my smarty so all i have on it is the Quad XZT now.On a hard pull in sixth gear my lift pump fuel pressure will go to zero. maybe my quad is killing my lift pump. But i do not know why? it is just a little 65 horse box.I know the smarty on wild torque managment sw9 would only pull the fuel down to 3-4 psi.But hopefully i will have a airdog order
monday. thanks Bobby

Check the pressure in your tires. I would be willing to bet it's WAY high. Lower to something like 30lbs in the rear and 40 in the front and go up from there. It seems like the tire shops always pump them up to 80psi and let you leave that way. It drives like there are marbles under the wheels with the extra pressure.

Timmer on my cooper tire post i said that the tire shop only put 50 psi in them. But when i had the blance checked i had them air the tires up to 65 psi. that helped the sway some but not a whole lot. I am going to call the place i got the tires from and see what they can do for me.thanks for the help though. Mopar72

You guys with lift pump problems, check your fuel tanks on top for the open elbows setting in the concaves on top of tank. Theres two of them ,one at front and one on rear of tank top. These elbows are open and let all kinds of crud into tank. This crud goes through the lift pump unfiltered . My 1998.5 was like this and my 06 is also. Drive on good roads and no problem, but drive on bad .wet ,nasty roads and crud will get in tank. 18 inches of 1\4 rubber gas line with a cheap inline gas filter pluged on end ,and put this on the exposed elbow, let line hang down between tank and shield beside tank.
