My 3rd Tranny

I posted a while ago when my first tranny blew with 17000 miles. The second tranny has now become junk the truck has 26000 and yes truck has still the lift, guages, Fass pump, exhuast and intake. No programmer and No big wheels. I was coming back from daytona towing a 32 ft trailer weight about 10k when I noticed that the tranny was slipping. Its been close to a month since I haven't had my truck and keep getting the run around from the dealership trying to get an answer from Dodge. Love the truck starting the get aggeravated with the tranny issue.

Your profile states otherwise to modifications. If that is true you will get little sympathy from me. On the otherhand fix your sig.

On the contrary we need more info. Was the "rebuild" by dealership or factory rebuild. What all was replaced?

I think your just asking to much from your auto. Your going to have to get a built tranny or up grade to a manual and be trouble free.

"...22.5 Alcoa wheels, 6in lft, custom fenders, 5" Cat Back, AFE Stage 2, FASS 150, Quadzilla with commander, Brakesmart..."

Did dealer rebuild your last two trannies? If you removed all mods, I would suspect they didn't rebuild right. Probably shouldn't have covered it to begin with, but they did, now they prob. own it. Prob. going to have to put in a new unit.

Do programmers permanently screw up the truck's settings?

Do you have 3.73 gear or 4.10 gears? With those tall tires 4.10 gears would be a must so your tranny would last.

I have removed the programmer and the wheels since the 2nd install. The 2nd tranny was a rebuild. I am meeting with the tech advisor from dodge sometime next week. Anyways if guys were going to get a tranny any suggestions?

You should probably go with any of the major brands that has a builder/installer close to you that can help you warranty it. Lot of guys have and love their Goerends, HTS, Suncoast, ATS, and others. I am extremely happy with my recent locally built DTT. I love mine but I also think the builder has alot to do with that.

I'd call all the major aftermarket performance trans cos. and find out who the closest to you dealer/installer is and go from there.

A built trans will drive like a dream compared to the stocker. It actually puts the power to the ground.
