my 03 failed me 74K
03 3500 has been running fine, no issues at all,.. But this morning...
put the key in, waited for the heater to stop and turned the key, and OMG the thing sounded like a cylinder was getting ready to come out.. checked the gauges all were good, but the check engine light was on.. she settled down a bit, so I backed up some and the put er back in drive and she didnt want to go...barley made it back in the drive way... Im thinking lift pump...any ideas?
codes were
00192
00107
00073

192 = Rail pressure sensor low
107 = Manifold pressure sensor low
73 = Ambient Temperature sensor low
Do you have an performance boxes attached to the MAP and rail pressure sensor? If so check the connections.
Also look for wire chaffing. Especially check the wire loom bracket mounted to the plastic valve cover shroud on the drivers side (towards the rear).

yes, I had a MAX Milage hooked up... I removed all, and hooked back up to original factory condition and still had the same issue. I didnt have time to check all connections, but I will do as soon as I get home from work. Wondering if the MMM fried my system out...Its been running fine for months... Like I said, I did remove the after market harness and connected everything back to stock...same thing..

P0192 Code
Had you just recently done an engine wash or rinse? If water gets in the rail pressure sensor connector, it seems to take out the sensor and you get the 0192 DTC. Happened to me this past weekend with the new Quad X2 harness.

You read my mind, yes I did, three days before, I went back in and looked at the wiring from the ECM all the way to the sensors. Could not find anything..took my meter and read out Continuity from the ECM connectors to both sensors the best I could. Engine still runs like crap. Same codes, except the ambiant temp code cleared.. Pulled it to the dealer, they say both fuel rail pressure and MAP sensors are bad...duh.. Freaking fuel rail sensor is 600 bucks......OMG... MAP sensor is 200 I think....Im still feeling faint from the 600 disclosure...Now I asked the Mech to make sure the ECM and the harness was good....Oh yea "I checked both" right is what I was thinking.. well whatever.. After looking at the price for new 3500's....Im just about ready to write an open check to fix mine and get the heck on outta there///I learned a lesson : troubleshoot longer and try everything that I possibly can before I go to a dealer.... Im a better mechanic and i should have stayed on it longer.
I will update when the final fix is learned.

Are you sure you didn't damage a ground wire when you were cleaning the engine? That many damaged sensors all at once sounds a little fishy to me.
If you had a marginal ground to begin with, then introduce water to it, it will corrode over the course of a few days.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

TCR.. Too late and yes it was the Rail Pressure sensor... total price with labor....909.32//Can you believe that crap...//There goes my economic stimilous Package check that I planned on spending somewhere else....lol...
Next ...time you can bet your%^& I will do more myself, before it ever sees the inside of another dealer... with the codes and my meter and the manual I now have...I should be able to take care of future issues
Now, Im wondering if the MMM and the Harness that came with it, had anything to do with shorting the sensor out? It is connected with the rail sensor and the MAP Sensor.... Not sure if I want to hook the dang thing up again.... Im thinking that spray off on the engine that I did last week,,,the truck sat for 4 days after might have been the culprit...
4carryall had the same issue above

In the auto repair business I saw maybe 6 a year come in the shops I worked in with shorted items due to high psi washing of engines.I clean my under hood area at least once a year on my vehicles but I'm always a little nervous about ruining something.

SH@% MAn, I'm sorry to hear that!! F@#$ing Dealers, that is BS!!!! Check your plug that goes into the RP sensor, look and see if the plug wires(RP plug on the Quad harness) have a hole around them, not sealed where they go through the plug in the Quad wiring.
