I have an 03 QC with an aftermarket 4" exhaust system. When I tow the drone just drives my wife crazy, which in turn makes me crazy, and I end up driving crazy. I hear constantly, "Why did you replace that nice quiet exhaust with that?" I was thinking of installing an 05-06 muffler in place of the Rokktech Silent Might I have now iff the stock hangers are the same on an 03 as an 05-06 and the offset is not too great as the current muffler is straight through no offset.

I have had 4 different configurations of aftermarket mufflers and none have been satisfactory. My current setup is a MRBP SS pipes with an Aeroturbine 4040L muffler after the turn in the downpipe to a Rokktech Silent Might muffler where the stock muffler was to a Silverline 4" turndown exhasut tip. All connections are made with SS band clamps and presently all OEM rubber hangers have rods to support the exhaust system. Any help greatly appreciated.

I just installed the "Silent Might" on my '03 and it sounds nice with no drone, even towing heavy. I had it welded with the inside cut-outs toward the back. I had to inquire here (DTR) about which direction to mount it since there is no flow direction marked on the muffler. Maybe turn yours around? I do have a CAT on my '03 which may make some difference.

Yes I installed it as per the Rokktech instructions as I had to do it twice, first time wrong way. I have heard most people mention that when they remove the "kitty" that the sound level increases. The exhaust note is the quietest it has been during this "experiment" but not up to wife snuff. Thanks for the input.

Invest in a good stereo and play music she likes. I hear a lot of people talking about the 4040xl aero which has a resonator to deal with the drone issues. I am all stock (including cat) except for my MBRP replacement muffler and I have no drone issues. BTW I still have my stock muffler laying in the driveway. It does have a decent amount of offset.

I recently upgraded to WIFE 2.0, very expensive new software so I'm kinda need to stick with this version. Hopefully there are upgrades that I can download.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Factory exhaust = quite and good for slight mods.
Aftermarket exhaust = noisy/droney/buzzy but good for more power.
Try later larger muffler from muffler scrap heap.

I just put on a Donaldson M090544.

It's a 51" long, 4" straight through muffler. There is no drone, it sounds stock. It drives my Hemi-driving neighbor crazy that I didn't put a loud muffler on!

Actually I wish it growled a bit, but I don't want the drone pulling!
