more power for 06?

I think its time for DC to really crush the competition. They need to go for the twin turbo. If volkswagen can put a twin turbo in their Toureg (smaller engine/v10) and make as much power as our cummins, why won't DC? I guess they would have to really beef up their automatic and that would cost more money than having a twin turbo option.

Your right, twins would not help.
Cummins could provide 400hp and 900 ft lbs if the rest of the drivetrain could hold up.
The Toureg is a whole other ball game, the engine is not at its max output but a whole lot closer to its max potential output than our current B series engine. I'm surprised you can't get the diesel Toureg in the States. I think its a sweet ride for an SUV.

if you think about it - a DC twin turbo would cost a lot more than what we could do it for. Let's see...
PDR twins - 5,000
Head stud kit/o-ring - 500
clutch - 1000 - if you have auto add a lot more
TST twins pgr/gauges - 1,000+
exhaust - 400
So rounding off its about $8,000 roughly so you know DC would charge you atleast that if not more to have a factory twin cummins equipped truck. Add that on top of a fully loaded dually 4x4 and you would be approaching 65,000 (probably more).

I would bet it would be a lot less, you are forgetting the buying power of a company like Daimler-Chrysler. They would be buying torbo's and parts by the truck loads. All of the little guys combined right now probably don't buy one truck load in a year.

i don't know - look at what they are asking for the "powerwagon". A couple of lockers and some skid plates and they want 45,000. It must have gold ring and pinions....These days the big three are making big profits on the Truck & SUV market. Don't think they will do us a favor by reducing their profit.
