Mopar oil rating not meeting specs

Since I gave the dealer aces on a survey they gave me a free oil change coupon. Be nervous about the lub guy not torquing the drain plug (i.e overtighten), they just gave me the 3 gallons of oil and filter. I just noticed the Mopar diesel oil is rated CG4, not required CI 4. If I used after market CG 4 they would likely void my warranty. Oh well. Guess I'll use it anyway and just change it sooner. I have 3 gal of premium blue in my garage I'll save it for next time.

I hadn't ever torque a drain plug either before this one. But it looks like it has a rubber gasket. Figured that was a little more sensitive that the copper and aluminum washers.

I would not worry about the oil rating when I bought my truck in Dec 2002 you could not even find the newly rated oil I ran it first 2 changes with no ill effects. Just be glad they used oil for a diesel engine lots of guys have had stories of dealers putting in whatever.......

I just tighten it snug.. No way tight... I learned from The Ford PSD I had.. Book said, Torgue 35 ft lbs.. I did and almost stripped the plug to the pan!! Now I just feel it to where it is tight.. but not too tight.. Same with the oil filter...
