I had the new TSB on friday.....My overhead computer reads approx. 4 miles more per gallon. Just got back from a 200 mile trip. At 65-70 mph the overhead 17.5 ( with 30 minutes in stop and go traffic) My trip computer was previously always 2.5 on the low side. If I keep it under 60mph it reads 20.4. I have not hand calculated the mileage yet, however, I'm feeling pretty good about the Flash...I will keep you posted on my hand calculated mileage

Thanks Odie, my numbers are similar to yours, mabey I'm expecting too much for the mileage.

I'd like to know this too. I am getting an average of about 17.5 MPG at 60% hwy. Not bad, I guess, but I had expected more from the Cummins. I am wondering if I should get it. Does a reflash roll all the previous fixes up into a cumulative fix, or does it only address specific issues?

Just had the flash today. Went from 13.6 to a max of 23.0 mpg doing 60-70 over a half hour trip. City went from 12.9 to 22.1. I'm sure this isn't right on but my hand calc will tell when I get use an eighth of a tank. Seems like the shift point got closer from 1-2-3 and taller to fourth. They say they also fixed the not going into park issue as well, we'll see. Amazes me the way we discuss issues on this site and the Service Mgr has no idea they exist.

Had this done 9-30-04 and then went on a short trip about 150 miles it seems to have increased milage at interstate speds (70-80MPH) from 14.5 to 17.4 on this trip was pulling a 6X12 enclosed trailer with inside heigth of 6'3" and an HD Electra Glide and got 17.4 on interstate running 70-80 MPH hard to tell about the power just yet but so far no regrets and it only applies to 600s built before a certain date and a certain computer code you can check the build dates but dealer has to check the computer codes

Is this something they can do quickly, or do you have to leave the truck? What should I tell them the mpg is low ?

It takes 30 minutes for the flash.. Tell them your overhead is reading very low and that your mileage is low. I gained 1.5 -2.0 mpg more after the flash and now my overhead is very accurate. Good luck

Just wanted to add, I now feel the overhead is very accurate. I can coast and see the mpg rise and if I gas it hard I see the mpg drop accordingly. I'm very surprised how in tune the readout is with fuel consumption/wheels rolling. The hand calc will decide wether or not I ever use the overhead again.

So is the TSB number 18-037-04 the correct number for this TSB, b/c about 3 weeks ago my dealer said that there wasn't anything out for the mileage.

thanks Jamie

I have been watching the results of the new tsb 18-037-04.I went into the dealer today and spoke with the service mang who had no idea of this tsb.I gave him the number and asked him to pull it up on his computer,he did and was suprised. He said they must of just received it this week.He down loaded the tsb and installed it in my.I'm showing 4 more miles on overhead now, still have to hand calculate, fill no difference in power which was my concern. The service mang started calling customers with milage complaints to bring in their trucks. Maybe Dodge has a communication problem with its dealers that is causing a problem with the run around some of us have gotten.
