MIL and No Codes Shown

MIL and No Codes Shown
Hello,
I've started to have a problem on my '06 2500. A few days ago, it was fairly cool here (40F) and the truck had not been started for a few days. When this happens I often see an O514 code. So when I saw the MIL on at startup, I was not surprised.
However, what did surprise me was when I check for codes using the 3x key on/off method and all I saw was the -------- and then --done---. No codes display at all, yet the MIL stays on and I get the chime 5 seconds after it starts. I also see a flashing MIL after 5 seconds key on if I do not start it, confirming that something is unhappy. The truck seems to be running fine, gauges report nothing unusual.
Has any one seen this and how did you solve it? I'd rather not waste my time going to the dealer for something simple.
Thanks for all of your help and Merry Christmas!

Yeah I had the same code it goes away after a while, has something to do with the battery temp. The MIL are you refering to the CEL(check engine light). I have checked both batts and alt nothing wrong. I will drive her till she drops I guess.

coller33,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, the O514 code is a complaint about the battery temp sensor under the driver's side battery being out of range.
The strange thing is that the MIL (CEL) is still on even though no codes show up. I have never seen this before and am wondering what else can cause the light to go on, except for stored codes.
Anyone else with an idea of what I should check?
