Mech oil pressure gauge

Have a question & I can't find the answer , I have 07 5.9 dually G56, I'm going to install mech oil pressure gauge, so what do I do about the warning chime to check gauges? Cause the factory gauge goes up & down, so I'm going with mech, do I have to unplug something?......what have you guys done? Thanks for any help!

On top on the oil filter 1/8" bolt, remove it & install steel braided line to 1/8 copper to gauge

Yup! Thats where i connected mine.
Are you saying your oem gauge dosnt work right?
The oem gauge dosnt give 'life' psi BTW.... its a dummy gauge, more then 5[??] psi and up it shows 40 psi, give or take some

My factory gauge goes up to 40# on start up, but then drops, check gauge chime & light comes on, then it will go back up, if I shut the truck off & then back on its fine, I sick of it, I put a gauge on top on the filter just to see what I am getting, it 60# plus when cold, so I know it's not a problem, it's the junk factory gauge, it seems to be a common problem on these 3rd gens, so for peace of mind going mech.

I have the same issue. It's an intermittent failure of the oil pressure switch.

I haven't figured out whether I want to just jumper the wires (IE: Switch closed) or buy another pressure switch.

Jumpering it, you would loose the audible low oil pressure sensor chime, should the oil pressure ever actually fail. I'd have to notice it on the guage, which is now in the cab.

But all evidence points to the fact that this is extremely rare.

That chime is sure annoying though!
