Make :2007 Dodge Dually,
Issue: while driving my "Service 4 Wheel Drive" light comes on along with its buzzer, than goes out. There is no knowing when it comes on, but it did kick my truck into neutral driving down the highway the other day.
Issue #2: Under the truck near the transmission while being turned off or on is sounding like running some thing, it sounds like its doing a cycle than stops.

I don't know if these2 issues are related, but I'm am parked and lost on what i should do. My husband and I checked the main fuse board for any signs of burns or issues, clean. all fusses are good, even removed wire harness and checked wires, all is good. My truck has a brand new motor in it, as well as a HD transmission, all installed by a diesel performance shop. I do not have any programming chips installed, Please help me get my farm truck back on the road.

Sounds like you have transfer case problems.

I think it's weird when people go to the internet looking for answers with little information. Someone that knows what they are doing needs to look at your truck.

Troubleshooting by remote is extremely difficult. Hands on is the best way......

verdesardog, I disagree. Over the years, I have found solutions to troubleshooting. Sometime I know so little about the subject, those people that help quiz me till we identify the problem. It also increases my knowledge base on the subject. Sometimes they quickly identify the problem using their personal experience. I agree the more information provided, the more likely people will find solutions.

In the first place, you have no signature and that helps. Second, your description is not adequate. Does this occur when selecting 4 wheel drive or it just happens on its own? Lastly when it occurs, do you have any drive or are you left in neutral?

Did you not see that that was their first post and last Post? Perhaps being a newbie, it would be more helpful advising them of the need for additional information rather than lecturing them?

Issue #2 may be your TV motor, later autos are completely fly by wire so they used a motor instead of a cable. It does a cycle with key on before starting, should throw a code if its not working properly.

Issue #1 sounds like transfer case shifter motor. Haven't had to deal with mine yet, but its just a stepper motor that sends a signal back for verification. May be broken or out of whack. Does transfer case shift like it should otherwise?
