Manual transmissions ?
I'm about to buy a new CTD . There are two 6 speed manual transmissions available .
The first is the standard base 6 speed , the second is the Hd 6speed at $400.00 .
What is the difference in the two transmissions ? Thanks , John

There is only one 6 speed offered as of January which is the G56 (option code DEG) which is the standard base 6 speed you are refering to. There are two 6 speeds on Dodge's website, but that is not accurate. The HD 6 speed was the NV5600 which is no longer available.

Thanks for the replies . It'll make shopping easier . Gotta say that the Ram /Cummins is one pretty impressive looking and sounding package . While I didn't get a chance to actually test drive one , I did get to look one over at the dealership while picking up the wifes CRD. Again , thanks , John

If you are looking at trucks on the lot, you should be able to look underneith to tell if the truck has an NV5600 or the G56. The NV tranny has an iron housing (therefore it will probably be rusty) while the G56 has an aluminum housing. You could also bring a magnet
I'm 95% sure on this anyway
