Changing Trans fluid

Somewhat unrelated but does anyone know what the suggested draining and refilling of the NV5600 trans is.... I just glanced at the owners manual but I couldn't find any reference....
Thanks, Scott

I would be scared of the dual mass flywheel with the new transmission. I had a 2003 Duramax that had a dual mass flywheel. Shook real hard when backing up with a load and you had to slip the clutch or it felt like it was going to break something. 18000 pounds and backing into a driveway and it came loose. Barely limped it to the Dodge house to trade it in on my Dodge. Hopefully Dodge will not have the same problem.

SpokaneRam,

I believe the book says routine oil changes for the tranny are not needed.

Lots of people switch to Redline MTL, among other things, and report an improvement in shifting... DC naturally recommends their fluid, which is super-spendy. If you decide to change, just pull the bottom PTO cover bolt to drain, or pull the cover to inspect things and clean the magnet off... Use thread sealant on reassembly.

Brent,

Reading about that dual mass flywheel also scares me... Sounds like it could cost more to do a clutch/flywheel than it would to rebuild an auto. Since the dual mass flywheel apparently reduces stress on the drivetrain, I wonder if the new G would hold up if a person were to convert to a solid flywheel...

I've got a NV5600 love it. The only thing I have noticed is that sometimes it's a little hard to get it into 1st or Rev. (after it's been sitting, either at an idle or off) no grinding or anyhting like that just got to apply some more pressure to put into that gear. If I put it into 2nd it will slip right into 1st or Rev. alot easier? Checked the fluid looks good and is full to top of plug hole. 44k on the clock.
