Man bites dog! Dodge unvoids warranty!
As I've been posting about here lately, my lift pump went out a few days ago. My truck has had its powertrain warranty voided due to performance mods but I went ahead and called the dealer near where the truck broke down on the off chance they could do something.
The service guy told me he was expecting a visit from a factory rep the next day and he'd run it by him.
After that meeting the word is that if the Banks stuff did not make any permanent modifications to the engine computer, they would do the lift pump repair under warranty.
So I'm having the truck towed over there and they'll look for mods to the computer and let me know.
Regardless of what they find, I think this is a really good offer on their part and I'm pretty happy with it.

Kewl. Isn't that the way it's SUPPOSED to work? If the performance item has nothing to do with or caused damage to another system, it'll still covered under warranty......... I know, I know dealers have been in the denying mode no matter what. I'm for one, glad it'a all working out for you.

I just got a call. They received the truck, checked the computer, and will do the repair under warranty. They want me to pay for a new fuel filter, air filter, and the install of the two. My filter minder says the air filter is good but I'm letting them do it anyway. It will be ready to pick up tomorrow.

you should ask if you can put a performance air cleaner using the factory sensors and modify the exhaust, but maintain the catalytic converter. just to help all the people out about what you can truly get away with

Like my sig says, the truck has a Banks exhaust and it didn't seem to bother them.
The truck had a six gun/speedloader. Blew the engine, got voided. I bought it, rebuilt the engine/tranny, took out the six gun/speedloader, left in the pipes.
This engine/tranny has never had the computer stuff.

I don't know yet about the $100. I could understand them saying that since the pump was part of the old setup, I got a shortblock and re-used it, it had been asked to deliver more fuel than it was designed for when the original engine had the mods so it was no longer covered. They could have also said that since I didn't pay the transfer fee I was SOL, but they didn't.
We've all heard the stories where the dealerships take a hard line even when they don't have to, so having a factory rep pay for a repair when there were a couple of ways to get out of it is a nice surprise.

I recently had a good experience with Stoneridge Dodge in Dublin CA. They did warranty work to my electrical system with some pretty obvious mods done to the truck (intake, exhaust, air horn, heater grid delete, gauges). Their attitude was that if my mods caused the problem, I would pay. Cool guys, they warrantied out a replacement TIPM and skim key module for me after determining the mods had nothing to do with the problems.
