Major fuel supply failure ? - help

I had noticed the past week or so my truck ('07 - 5.9) was leaking a bit of fuel from the motor area. The leak was maybe a shot glass worth on the driveway, that seemed to occur occasionally right after driving but not all the time. My work schedule has been stupid and no time to get it to the shop, but I checked the oil and tranny fluid and all was fine so I figured I could get the truck in this coming week. My truck showed no symptoms of any kind - drove normal, normal power, no noises etc. Yesterday I was driving about 60km/hour and accelerating normally up toward 80km/h. There was a thump or clunk from the motor area and the truck just died completely (stalled). I tried to restart and it turns over fine but sounds like it's jut not getting any fuel. So, onto a flatbed and delivered to the mechanic.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am thinking obviously fuel related (pump of some sort or maybe even a line blew off)? I'm quite concerned this could be a major touch in the wallet to top off a **** bad week.

A couple of drops of fuel on the grond would mean a major leak to me. I got to ask, did you not try to trace the source on the truck? Everything rolls down hill so a drip should be easy to trace to the source.

Are you certain it was fuel leaking?
