Mag-hytec and warranty

After reading a lot of the warranty claim denials, I'm wondering if the addition of a Mag-Hytec double deep transmission pan could create a problem should the transmission fail.

My '05 has the 8 year power train warranty, and common sense says the dd pan should keep the fluid cooler and prolong transmission life.

On the other hand I can see Dodge looking for any after market product to blame a transmission failure on.

They can only deny the claim if they can lead to the part you added as being the cause of the failure.

The MH should help, not hurt....so I don't see how they could say it caused a "failure", should one occur.

I took mine off and re-installed the stock pan before I took it in for warranty on the 1-2 shift hunt/solenoid issue. It's better to just keep things cut 'n dried with the dealers. Avoid entirely, if at all apossible.

My MagHytek cover have been on my truck since the first service requirements of the diffs, I did the oil change before the 15K mark that Dodge requires. My dealership replaced the rear drivshaft seal at about 30K and said nothing regarding the covers and an effect on the warranty, in fact, the tech remarked that it was "one of the best mods to do because it added fluid (which he felt) created a better lubrication in the overall with better temp controls'. Not sure what he meant for sure about the temps except to assume that more fluid along with the cooling affect of the fins would keep temps down some? When I told him I had Amsoil fluids in the diffs, he also commented "Amsoil fluid was a thousand percent better that the Mopar stuff, even better than all the other fluids available" and that was what they (the dealership) recommended. Seems they offer Amsoil fluids in your choice/selection of fluids when you bring your vehicle to them for services.

I wonder what they would have said if you took it in with a transmission problem?

You rolls the dice....

The extra 2" of lift required for that deep pan exceeds the optimal intake specifications for the transmission pump thereby starving the......blah, blah, blah. I could work for those guys!!
