Lunging

I seem to have some lunging.(sp?) I notice it when I'm cruising down the highway with the cruise control on. Never noticed it before. All gauge's are stable, no fluxuation in anything. Just seem's like the truck is kinda rocking.

I started noticing it shortly after using the PS/MMM mix. I'm not saying that's what's causing it neccesarily, hope it's just a coinsedence. Actually, I think I might have lost a little pep, and milage from the mix, but maybe I'm imagining it. Next fill up I'm going to leave the mix out and see what happen's.

Any idea's. Thank's.

Hi, Bad Rammer,

Right after buying my truck, at about 15-20 mph it didn't lunge, it bucked! It was pretty embarassing and I was mortified. I took it right back to the dealer and said, "What's this?" They serviced the transmission, and I haven't seen it do it since.

how bad is it surging ram? I know stock they do it, can be a little more noticeable with a tuner box, but imho this is the effect of a comp controlled vehicle, the ecm only checks the rpm so often and can only adjust so often so what you feel may be this cyclic effect, ecm checks tps, need to go faster.... adjust.....ecm checks rpm, needs to go slower..... adjusts said rpm..... checks tps agian.... starts cycle over.......... most easily felt with cruis control on, smooooooth road, quiet inside. remedy? volume **** on radio seems to make it a little less noticeable. mine did it before the reflash and after, did it with the ez module and does it with the quad module, but quad module is much smoother since that has been reflashed. Unless they step up the speed of the computer that controlls all the throtling then we will feel it. hmmmmm I wonder if I can overclock the stock ecm processor???

I know what you mean, driving around in another vehicle all day makes certain things stick out, I still have a hard time on my way home from work every day, I can't seem to make the rear end stick to the road, it tends to fishtail, blow blue tire smoke, come up to and beyond the speed limit real quick, ....... did I mention the fack that the co. I work for has a whole fleet of powerjokes??? , well they do have one cummins pickup, its a 96, has 202 thousand miles and still feels perkier than the new fords.
