Lowering 06 4x4 QC 3500

Has anyone lowered their truck by taking out the 2 5/8 spacers between the overload springs and spring pack?Does someone know if you can run 285/55/r20s without the 2 inch lift spacer on the front springs.I have the 305s,but could switch, dropping a bit of height.Trying to get the fiver levelled out, don,t want to flip springs, just need a couple more inches.Thanks.
