Low Sulphur Diesel in Phoenix - $1.97
Found a Flying J at 67th Ave and I-10 that has at least 4 or 6 low sulphur pumps for light class vehicles (not the big semi pumps). Had to go to LA and back this morning from Tucson and just stopped there to stretch and get some water. I had parked my truck by one of the pumps when I went in so I could clean the windshield. When I walked out I glanced at the pump and couldn't believe what I saw. It was like finding a gold mine. There it was, LOW SULPHUR DIESEL FUEL - 500 PPM - NOT FOR USE IN 2007 AND NEWER VEHICLES.
I almost dookied my drawers I got so excited and I asked the guy inside if it was really low sulphur and not ultra-low sulphur. He said it was. Bought 100 gallons and topped everything off because I knew I couldn't get it in the Socialist Republic of California. $1.97.
Now you can accuse me of smoking crack, but I swear that my truck came to life with the low sulphur fuel. I put 750 miles on it today, about 1/3 of that with the ultra-low junk and the rest with the low sulphur. I topped it off again when I came back through Phoenix. It even smelled like the old diesel fuel I remember. My truck is happily sitting by my house tonight with about 135 gallons of LOW SULPHUR DIESEL in it (although there is still some old ultra-low mixed in with it). The engine was quieter, and it just ran better. I was even able to fog out a couple of Toyota Prius commies when I punched it hard at 65 mph on the freeway.
Sorry for the long post. This made a very long trip and 15 hours on the road much better for me today.

On a serious note, I hope the rest of you get at least one more opportunity to burn some LSD. My truck even looks happier this morning.

$1.97 was the same price i paid for the other day. after filling up, when removing the pump nozzle, i saw some "red" diesel dripping from the nozzle.
isn't "offroad" diesel red in color? hope i don't get checked (highly doubtful)

I paid $1.89 for LSD at the Zip station on Vicksburg Rd and I-10 (west of Phoenix).
My mileage has improved over 2 mpg running the LSD fuel. I'm now averaging 19.6 mpg, instead of the 17.2 I was getting before. I've put a couple thousand miles on the truck in the last week, so it's for real. I wish I could buy a few thousands gallons of the LSD, but I have nowhere to store it, so I'll have to settle the 140 gallons I can stuff into my truck tanks.

when did the Low sulfer diesel come in? not the ULSD
I have one memory i think it would be about 7 or 8 years ago we left dads old ford truck running quite awhile one time cuz we were out doing a job. it was likely -40 with the windchill. and some yellow liquid was dripping out the pipe. always asumed that was from sulfer? bet it wouldnt do that with todays fuel?
really makes sense they take sulfer out. then stations and individuals ad conditioner and oils to beat the band. then there's probably diesel going bad on farms thats sat too long.
i keep meaning to get some 2 stroke oil to ad into my dodge
