$1.18 per Litre in Ontario.......and the oil companies just keep telling us about their record profits.....

Wouldn't be surprised to see the trucking industry stage some sort of revolt....

Amazing that diesel all of a sudden is higher than gasoline and we all know it's cheaper to produce than gas..... Think of the ridiculous profits the fat oil companies must be making off diesel fuel alone.

Had to vent..

I was thinking....The Gov't will not do anything as they are making more profit in the taxes than the oil companies.
Some of those running for President have talked of taking the oil company profits because they are to much.
Gov't restrictions will not allow new refineries and they won't let us tap much of our own oil.
What if.....one of the big oil companies said "you know what. we're going to drop our gas prices to rock bottom for a week or so."
The profit margin for the Gov't in the form of taxes would go down the tubes. We would have a short relief period from the prices and the oil company could say "see what we could do if Big Brother would ease up on drilling restrictions!"

But maybe not...

$1.24/L or $4.96/Gal used to go cross border for fuel it has almost equaled out $4.69/ Gal in Northern New York. Still sve .30C per so still good. Go get the Ram it will pull your Toyota + the car hauler. Have a 30 foot fifth wheel , Terry Went from Cornwall Ontario to Calais Maine on $85 in fuel. Now thats at 60 mph and I have an edge chip but other than just dressing the truck up every else stock.

Read on a yahoo message board, then went to a company web site that last fall,a foreign company instead of selling heating oil into Boston Harbor market instead sold their fuel instead as diesel fuel to Europe (got more money for it plus the US dollar was falling in value). This , I believe started the shortage in heating oil and diesel fuel in New England. Plus the fact that US refinerys are set up for a maximum of 33% diesel fuel verses 50% diesel in European refineries caused a lot of our problems. According to CNBC gasoline inventory is at a 14 year high while diesel fuel is at levels 15% lower than last year. Could the ethanol boom have couse the oversupply in gassoline, plus the fact that lessr people are driving and it was a cold winter which caused heating oil (diesel) to be in short supply? Another possibility is that Uncle Sam may be using (stockpiling diesel) for some future possible adventure?.

Blah...Blah....Blah....

According to the above article.

Oil is harder to find..
World demand for oil will rise 30 percent in the furture.
Price of crude is high....and whatever other lip service they're trying to get us to swallow. Fact is "Exxon Shatters Profit Record"

The oil companies are making a TON of money off the backs of regular everyday people like you and I and trying to sell us their hardships all at the same time to try and justify this highway robbery. Whatever.....

I was born at night...not last night. Whata bunch of B.S.

If you think Exxon's profits are "unfair" (it is hard to believe that a publicly traded company will try to make money for its shareholders, which you could be if you chose) then you should take a look at the various governments (Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Mexico) who supply most of the US's oil and refined products. Governments (not our government) control more than two thirds of the world's oil supply. Europe has been paying over $5 gallon for years. The amount of the oil the US consumes is unbelievable, importing between 11 and 13 million barrels each day over the last year.

I still love my truck, just try to drive it a little less.

I would much prefer $10.00/gal ketchup versus current prices of fuel.

cairo glenn.....I do think Exxon's profits are unfair.

Why are they making these incredible profits?.....Because they can. We need fuel and sources are limited and controlled so the oil companies do what they want and we have no choice but to pay.

Yes fuel is more expensive in Europe, but does that make it okay to rip us off on this side of the ocean....I think not. Should that make us feel better because we're not getting gouged as bad as people in the European market.

Yes we could be profiting by purchasing shares in the oil companies, but not all of us have the resources to do that. Some of us just want to buy fuel at a fair price. We have to have oil in this world just as we have to have water, maybey one day we'll be paying outrageous prices for water too, then we'll just have to drink a little less.

It's an injustice and there's nothing we can do about it....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was of the understand that across the pond there was like a 30-50% tax on fuel hence the higher price. Profits are fine with me, but when the profits are riduculos high and it cause the whole economy to turn down hill then there is an issue.
