Looking at a 2004 Truck Tomorrow....

Hey guys,

I am going to look at a 2004 dodge diesel tomorrow. It is a dually with the 6 speed manual tranny. I think it is the HO 325/600 engine. It has 125 000 km (78 000 mi). Are there any problems or things I should look for? Here is the VIN Number:
3D7MU48C74G242254

Thanks
Shayne

Anyone know of any major issues that I should look at for the 2004 models? I did a search but couldn't really find anything conclusive.

o4's are great trucks- by looking at your VIN #, the 8th letter is C, like mine- it has the 305/555 motor. That motor is awesome- plenty of power, and very good mileage. I have the auto, 4:10 rear, and can comfortably achieve high teens for MPG. Even though you have duals, you do have 3:73 and the 6 speed. And at 78k mi., you're just gettin broke in . I've only got 12,200 mi. A nice mixture of stanadyne and MMO and you're good to go.

I have an 03 555 dually - stock. I think it was one that was shipped with the diff. low on lube. The brgs. are loose and I am about to try a second dealer to get it warrantied. Reverse gear syncro grinds, too. I think someone hit rev instead of 5th a lot. I'm trying to get it warrantied too. My 97 3.54 and the 03 4.10 both get 21 or better - work commute. Craig

I too am looking at a 2004 truck

3D7KA28C64G264850 is the VIN any "common" problems with 2004 4X4 SLT Quad Diesel Auto long box 34,000 miles for $24,000. Looks good. But if I spend $10,000 more can score a 2006 Mega cab new... Decisions...
