You go into overdrive? No kidding, it locks up when in OD. You can also electrically prevent lock up if you wish and just use the first three gears for towing. The torque converter is considered in lockup when all converter parts are traveling at the same speed and there is no converter clutch slippage. The best example is in OD when the ratio is 1 t o1.

I also see you use Zaino. Great stuff!!

When it finally feels like power is going to the ground instead of blowing through the converter. It will feel more like a manual in gear.

During normal running you will see the rpm's drop conciderably about 45-50 mph. You will also apear to pick up speed quick if you aren't lugging the engine. That's when she's in OD and the torque converter is locked and loaded

So the torque converter onlynlocks in fourth gear? and is essentially overdrive?

That's seems odd.

The easiest way to see if the TC is locked, Take your foot off the accelorator. if the RPMs stay........then the TC is locked. The TC will lock up in 2nd also. You must have the gear selector in 2, when you accelorate it will go 1, 2, TClock up
